This video lesson features a mashup I made combining the video tablature lesson format featured here at GuitarTeacher.com and the most watched guitar video in YouTube history! Korean guitarist ‘funtwo’ performes the arrangement of “Canon Rock” by Taiwanese guitarist JerryC, a rocking take off of classical standard “Pachelbel’s Canon in D”. I added the in-video guitar tab and animated guitar neck on top. This is dedicated to bedroom guitar shredders worldwide! Check it out!
If you want the Guitar Pro file used for the tab you can download it here. I also uploaded a browser-playable version at Songsterr.com, a cool website you should all be aware of.
Update: PDF version of the tab available here.
Update: Here is a link to the source file of my video with tablature: Canon Rock Video (Right click to save: “Save Link As…”)
Now that you know the notes, I will expect you to post your version of ‘Canon Rock’ to YouTube shortly!

I use this Wordpress plug-in called Smart YouTube. It is really helpful!
Thanks a lot for the tab!. Great site
@nomola: Thanks for visiting!
I have been struggling with this for a long tie, I appreciate the encouragement – it gives me hope. Maybe someoneelse will figure this out.
storm thanks 4 the awesome tab!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. Saved me some time.
Bookmarked
your video really helped me a lot,..
thanks
hey this what i’m looking for and it’s really good but is it possible to slow it down so you learn better
can you teach me how to play???
what program will i use to view the tab??
@killereye: Contact me through the “Private Lessons” link in the site header.
@Allen: If you mean to view the Guitar Pro file I link to, the two best programs are Guitar Pro and TuxGuitar. I use Guitar Pro (link above) and it is a pay program with a free trial. TuxGuitar is free, open-source software for viewing Guitar Pro files.
wow this is really great but i haven’t quite perfected it because i cant afford the software
also is this in a different tuning then normal?
@Martin – Try Songsterr.com or another free choice for playing Guitar Pro files is “TuxGuitar”. Most of the same features as GuitarPro and can play GP files.
The tuning is standard.
cool thanks
hello sir , i have been visiting your web site for many hours.. Thank you so much to you for allow me to learn so much in such a short period of time. Your web site is a truly informative and you have a big heart of sharing so much lessons. i like to have your favor on how to get a copy of the tab with music notes if possible on this canon rock song. I study about this guitar pro 5. what is this? what does it do? Assuming i own this soft ware, open a song, using this soft ware, which will read this song and write the tab on my p c screen? than i print it ? one more question, you have so much lesson on your web, is there any lesson left for your private lessons ? sincerely and thank you for many lessons. kelvin.
@Kelvin Gaw – Thank you very much for your kind comments about my site. The few dozen lessons on the site now are just a little of what I hope to have on here soon with MUCH more available via Private Lessons or eLessons.
I think you understand Guitar Pro. Essentially a tab player with rhythm. Check out Songsterr.com via the link in this lesson or on my homepage. Another good resource.
Thanks So Much For Making This
Much Apreciated

hey thanks for the awesome post but do you know a program i can use for downloading and slowing down this video?
Hiya!
Could anyone help me? I don’t know how to do the hammer ons that way.. because mine don’t sound like that.. (hammer ons at: 0:38 and 0:42)
@~Daniel~ – I put together a demonstration of how I would use Apple’s Quicktime player to do what you asked in a new post here: http://guitarteacher.com/2010/02/08/slowing-down-guitar-videos-using-quicktime/
BTW, I updated this post with a link to the video file so anyone can try this out. Look for it above for download.
Two other programs that I use to slow down audio files are Transcribe! (http://www.seventhstring.com/) and Amazing Slow Downer (http://www.ronimusic.com/).
