How Much Do You Practice? [POLL RESULTS]

On average, how much individual guitar practice time do you put in each week was the question in our last reader poll here at GuitarTeacher.com. 210 readers took the time to responded. The results give a pretty clear picture of  readers’ practice habits – and the outlook is good! Results shown below:

practice-1practice-2

The results show that 80% of this blog’s readers practice guitar at least 3 hours each week. Over a 1/3 of our readers practice more that 10 hours a week! That is awesome! As a private guitar instructor I usually ask for 90 minutes of practice time a week to make progress with the obvious point being that more time equals more results. This poll shows that GuitarTeacher.com readers are going above and beyond in the practice department! These are the type of guitarists that I love to teach. I would look forward to getting more of these (YOU!) dedicated players into my Online Private Guitar Lessons.

I will do my part to keep giving you material to keep your fingers and brains busy. I am re-dedicated to a new-post-a-day average for my free guitar lessons, jam tracks and posts. I have doubled down on the free live group lessons, now twice weekly (look for a countdown timer in the sidebar or the ‘Live’ link in the header). And I will have an announcement upcoming about new guitar eLessons series.

Keep up with the practicing and the feedback! Check the sidebar for a new poll (official post to come) that will continue helping me tailor GuitarTeacher.com content to fit you!

I practice 2 hours a day. I take both in-person lessons with a private instructor once a week, and supplement that with online lessons from GuitarStarLessons.com .

I try to practice a bare minimum of a half hour a day. But generally I practice an hour a day or more 7 days a week. But playing by your self it can get boring. If I had somebody or something to jam to, I could play for 3-4 hours a day easily.
